Plot Storyline

A young Irishman comes up with an unusual plan to get the money to emigrate to Tahiti.

Young Dubliner, Gulliver Sheils, fantasises about escaping his humdrum life and living in Rarotonga. Lacking the money for such a venture, he takes to hanging around outside Trinity College in the hope of rescuing a wealthy person from a traffic accident who will reward him for his heroism. He ignores the affections of local beauty Jennifer, yet his patience pays off when befriends a tycoon who offers to take him to the South Seas. As the pair head off, they are themselves involved in a traffic accident, forcing Gulliver to realise his true feelings for Jennifer and stay in Dublin.
