It is great that the torrent community continues, but I keep getting the same annoyances over the last year or two.

When a new series is released, I look at the screenshot quality of each groups uploads, and also if the torrent includes English (not English SDH) subtitles. Sometimes it is great and a release group I know uploads the episodes and all is fine.

However, what happens more often than not is that I start downloading a particular groups releases, and they either stop completely (grrr) or the release comes out 2, 3, 4 or more days late, then I am chasing around trying to find it, or even switching to a completely different release.

The other very annoying thing is some groups mark their subtitles (in the mkv file) as English, when they are actually English SDH. This means you have to download the episode and play it to check if it is SDH. If it is SDH then you have to decide if the quality of the video is such that obtaining subtitles separately is worth the effort. If other groups can release both normal and SDH then they should all manage to do it.

I find it ironic that a lot of the time I am downloading releases with both foreign language and English audio & subtitles, and ripping out what I don't need, because their releases contain what should be in the English only releases.  It is extra effort that could be easily avoided.

Is it possible to add English subtitles to films?
