Plot:

In search of fresh-faced singers to assemble a state-sponsored Polish folk music ensemble, sophisticated conductor Wiktor and his producer Irena tour remote villages in cold, late 1940s Poland. And before long, pretty, talented Zula catches Wiktor's eye. Now, against the backdrop of the Cold War, the Iron Curtain, East Berlin and Paris, a desperate whirlwind romance that defies reason commences. Are the star-crossed lovers meant to be together? Can they overcome the insurmountable obstacles that stand in the way of happiness?
