In Philadelphia, Sawyer Valentini is an efficient worker in a bank, who left her hometown and her mother Angela Valentini in Boston to flee from a stalker. She blind dates a stranger in a bar but she is still traumatized and has a weird reaction, sending the guy away. When she sees an advertisement of the Highland Creek Behavioral Center, she visits the institution and talks to a psychologist that asks her to fill standard documents to have another session. However, Sawyer was lured and has authorized in an admission form to the hospital for 24-hour observation. She calls the police and when they see the signed form, they leave the hospital. During the night, she fights the inmate Violet and hits a nurse, and the psychiatrist Dr. Hawthorne demands her to stay for one week. Sawyer befriends the patient Nate Hoffman, who tells her that the hospital has a scheme to raise money from the health insurance companies, and there are other patients like her. He asks her to stay calm and wait for the seven remaining days. But soon Sawyer sees her stalker David Strine working as a nurse under the alias George Shaw delivering the patients' drugs and she panics, but nobody believes her. She lends Nate's cellphone and calls her mother Angela Valentini to release her. Is Sawyer delusional or the stalker David Shrine is in the hospital?
