In New York, Emma Davenport breaks up her relationship with her Afro-American lover Tom in a hotel room. Then she meets her controlling husband Mark at his office in his law firm where Tom works, and he invites her to have dinner with him since it is their marriage anniversary. Emma met Mark when she was attacked by the criminal Bobby Ray, who lost his left eye when Emma hits his eye with the car key, and is in prison for many years. After dinner, Mark blindfolds Emma and heads to their isolated house in the countryside and they have a night of sex. On the next morning, Emma wakes up hand cuffed to Mark, and he commits suicide, shooting his head. Emma seeks her cellphone, but she finds it was trashed by him. She also looks for a knife or a tool to get rid of his body, but Mark removed everything from the house. Further, he drained the gas from the tank of his car. Out of the blue, Tom arrives at the house since Mark sent a message to him as if he were Emma. Suddenly, a truck arrives with Bobby and his younger brother Jimmy, in the beginning of a cat and mouse game with Emma.
