Plot:
It's official: Valorgue, a once-peaceful, tight-knit community in the picturesque French countryside, is in turmoil. When Justin, the son of baker Felicien Hebrard, leaves the village to do his part in Algeria during his military service, Francoise, the daughter of the local grocer, realizes she is pregnant, of course, behind everyone's back. As a result, ten short months later, unmarried Francoise and her lovely baby return home, and the villagers have to pick sides. Who is the baby's father? Has Justin sinned before marriage? Either way, Felicien refuses to sell his bread to his son's denouncers until the matter is resolved. Can the baker of Valorgue right the wrong?
