The Nostalgist

Over a game of chess between a father and his son somewhere in a bright and idyllic Victorian-like Eden, strange occurrences begin to show their face through the parent's mysterious spectacles. Somehow, an unforeseen malfunction blurs the frail bounds between reality, perceived reality and parallel reality, allowing instances of a dark and dystopian future to seep into their world. Is the father-and-son reality nothing but an elaborate facade, and a false projection of a wistful nostalgia?
