The Fighting Devil Dogs (1938) Old Time Serial (OTS)

The first chapter of this 12-chapter serial indicates the film should prove attractive to juvenile audiences. It deals with the adventures of two Marines and their attempts to trap a criminal identified only as "The Lightning." The Marines, played by Lee Powell and Herman Brix, first cross the path of the criminal when they visit a castle in China. "The Lightning" has killed all the occupants with an aerial torpedo charged with electricity. Back in the United States the Marines face a military board on charges of negligence when "The Lightning" kills a detachment of marines. The two appeal to an inventor for aid. Scientists are working in his laboratory when "The Lightning" strikes again and kills them. "Lieutenant Tom Grayson" (Lee Powell) starts for the building and falls.
