Plot:
"Soul Kicking" is a bold and realistic depiction of contemporary Greek reality. The central character of the film is Takis. He is a middle-aged factory worker, married, betrayed, and with a newborn baby. He faces pressure from all sides. He owes money. He is owed love. He doesn't speak. He tries to escape. No one lets him be. The wife, the employer, the loan shark, the relatives, the friends. Violence and oppression-verbal, mental, physical. Everyone against one and God against all. In his second feature film, Yiannis Economides disruptively inserts his camera into the depths of the microcosm of the popular Greek society. He observes the events that lead the action to its climax. Secrets, lies, violence, malice, betrayal, aggression, harsh language, truth, emotion, wild survival-everything is here.
