Plot:
In 1972, Italian-American Jack Flowers from Buffalo, New York is currently living in Singapore. He is wise to the streets of the city, as although he officially, for visa purposes, works as a gopher for Hing and Little Hing in their business, he makes most of his money as a pimp and runs an associated whorehouse. With a strong moral code, he has a heart of gold in giving the proverbial shirt off his back to most he knows, most in return loving him: he has an easy rapport with men, while women would easily fall into bed with him, knowing he would treat them with respect. One of his new friends is British national William Leigh, the accountant sent from the head office in Hong Kong to audit Hing and Little Hing's books. Their friendship is born of mutual respect as, upon their initial encounter, William, while not prudish, didn't expect or want Jack to give him one of his girls for free. Seemingly the only enemies he has in town are a Chinese triad in being competition to the services he provides, which makes his existence in Singapore tenuous in they doing whatever to dissuade him from being in the business. With pressure from the triad, Jack will be able to test that moral code in meeting well connected Singapore-based American Eddie Schuman, connections which may provide Jack with opportunity, some not always up to his moral code.
