Rendez-vous (Techine, 1985)

Nina is trying to establish herself as an actress in Paris. So far, she has only managed to secure a small role with a single line of dialog. But the young woman doesn't give up - she continues to dream of her big breakthrough. While looking for an apartment, she meets real estate agent Paulot, who immediately falls in love with her. He organizes an apartment for the budding actress - he wants to dedicate the spacious, albeit somewhat run-down new home as a shared love nest. However, Nina, who is used to using her feminine charms to help out, is only interested in a purely platonic friendship. Paulot's headstrong roommate Quentin, also an actor, is fascinated by the beautiful Nina. A darkly passionate affair begins. But she only learns about the traumatic experiences of his past in passing. When his biography finally catches up with Quentin, Nina begins a difficult learning process as a woman and as an actress.
