Unable to escape his troubled past, Viktor quits his soul-draining 9-to5 cubicle job. Having nowhere else to go, Viktor returns to his abandoned, memory-laden childhood home in rural Ohio. There, free at last from his abusive family, Viktor tries to pick up where he left off by visiting grizzled neighbours and old flames--his only connection to the place he grew up. But as Viktor struggles to piece together the puzzle of his messed-up life, a nearly fatal encounter with a deranged hermit sends him back to square one.
