Plot Storyline
Exploring the controversial NBC series that caught potential child predators in sting operations, leading to arrests, and its eventual cancellation.
Suspected sex offenders lured into elaborate traps formed the backdrop for the hit series "To Catch a Predator." The show aired in prime time in the early 2000s, at a time when reality shows dominated the television landscape and channels were constantly pushing the boundaries of how far they could go in the pursuit of ratings. Documentary filmmaker David Osit looks back at a 20-year-old TV hit with strong connections to our own time.
