New York City, New Year's Eve. Sara Frost, a former photographer who is now permanently blind from an explosion three years ago when she was covering the war in Afghanistan, is preparing for a small gathering in her and her boyfriend Ryan's upscale penthouse apartment in Brooklyn this evening to ring in the new year with her pregnant sister Blake and Blake's husband Danny. When Sara returns home after a trip to the liquor store, she discovers that someone has invaded the apartment, the man who begins to terrorize her.
