Peoria, Illinois. Having put his work before family, crusty nonagenarian Earl Stone--a neglectful husband, estranged father, and dedicated horticulturist--finds himself with his back to the wall. As a result, with his business facing foreclosure, Earl is now in dire need of cash and a place to stay. As Earl runs out of options, a perfect stranger approaches him at a small engagement party, offering an unexpected solution to his ever-increasing problems and the chance to make quick money in a deceptively simple way: carry unspecified packages from point A to point B in his beat-up pickup truck. But the feared Mexican drug cartel is behind Earl's newfound bliss. And now, two determined DEA agents are hot on Earl's trail, desperate to make a bust.
