Henderson, Nevada, 2011. Five years after Katie went on a possessed rampage and vanished with her infant nephew Hunter in Paranormal Activity 2 (2010), the supernatural activity resurfaces when the Nelson family takes in Robbie, a strange neighbourhood boy. As a series of increasingly violent paranormal occurrences takes over the household, teenager Alex and her tech-savvy boyfriend, Ben, rig up their laptops and an Xbox Kinect to record the house at night.
