Plot:
Wally Hogan (Bob Hope) is boxing trainer who decides to join the army after his boxing world title hopeful (Bullets Bradley) gets drafted. Unfortunately Wally has just signed the dotted line to join the army, when he finds out that Bradley has been deemed unfit for the military and so is now starting a new career as a military policeman. On the train on the way to start his training he meets a young army man called Herbert Tuttle (Mickey Rooney). Tuttle recognises Hogan and wants him to train him to be a boxer. Hogan is not interested until he happens to meet Tuttle's aunt Connie Curtis (Marilyn Maxwell) who is also on the train. When he realises this is Tuttle's aunt, Hogan says he will train him. After a little while Hogan realises Tuttle might make a very good boxer and so starts training him properly. All the while managing to infuriate his commanding officer and desperately trying to win the attention of aunt Connie. As usual there is a small cameo from Bing Crosby.
