Midsummer

Not knowing what to expect, Dani, a traumatized American graduate student, attends a rare summer solstice festival at an isolated pagan commune in Sweden's Halsingland province. To save what's left of her disintegrating relationship with her distant boyfriend, Dani enters the verdant slice of peace and harmony, unaware that sunshine and shadow coexist. As the welcoming community's peculiar traditions blemish the folkloric utopia, an uncomfortable undercurrent of uneasiness creeps up on the unsuspecting guests. After all, their naturalistic rituals seem brutal to the uninitiated eye. It's probably nothing, but what if the friendly pagans hide a numbing truth in plain sight?
