Plot:
Dave Brady (George Brent) goes to Mexico following a letter from "Tip" Morgan (Morris Ankrum), former newspaper man from Los Angeles, who 15 years ago, while covering a murder case, vanished. With Morgan, his daughter Linda (Karen Sharpe), and an old servant Pablo (Alberto Morin), Brady motors north back to Los Angeles. En route, three gunmen, "Silk" Caruthers (Carleton Young), "Lucky" Gato (Stuart Randall) and "Cookie" (Marvin Press) attempt to kill Morgan, the ambush being set up by Eve Carter (Hillary Brooke). Pablo is killed by Brady, Morgan and Linda reach the home of lawyer Daniel McCracken (Douglas Kennedy), who alone knew the purpose of Brady's trip to Mexico.
