Chicas pesadas

Pretty sixteen year old Cady Heron is attending a formal school for the first time in her life after being home schooled thus far in her anthropologist parents having worked in remote Africa. The change is due to her Mom now getting a job at Northwestern, Cady to attend North Shore High in suburban Chicago. Used to watching the activities of wild animals, Cady is naive to the ways of the "tribe" of human beings in the form of high schoolers, who, at North Shore, have divided themselves up into different cliques. The only one of her classmates who pay her any attention in her difficulty in befriending anyone are the outcasts, goth Janis and overweight gay Damian, who give her the lay of the land. While they don't pay much attention to the other cliques, they reserve most of their ire for who they call "the plastics": the pretty girls led by Regina George, they who have wreaked havoc on all others in one form or another in their sense of superiority. So when Regina asks Cady to join them at lunch one day, Janis believes Cady can be her and Damien's source for information on the plastics in order to get back at them. Cady does get immersed in the life of the plastics, including that they have kept a scrap book called the "Burn Book" outlining what they hate about other girls in their class. Things get more complicated when Cady believes she has to do plastic girl mean things to fit within the group, and as she starts to fall for senior Aaron Samuels, who just happens to be Regina's ex-boyfriend.
