Plot:
Stranded in the godforsaken town of Las Piedras, four men desperate for work--tough Corsican Mario, nihilistic French gangster Jo, Italian workhorse Luigi, and mysterious German Bimba--agree to undertake a suicide mission for the corrupt Southern Oil Company. On the surface, the task seems simple enough: they must drive two heavy trucks loaded with highly unstable nitroglycerine over hundreds of kilometres of rugged mountain roads to a remote oilfield. However, the slightest vibration could lead to catastrophic consequences, and the journey is fraught with peril at every turn. To make matters worse, the unrelenting heat and an undercurrent of rivalry between the opportunists add to the already considerable risks. Nevertheless, the seasoned adventurers are determined to see the assignment through to the end, driven by the promise of quick profit. But as they embark on their tortuous and nerve-racking journey, the most crucial question emerges. Does fortune always favour the bold?
