Plot:
All beginnings are hard. That's how family man Damien feels, you might think ... As his pregnant wife Nadia has taken a job as a research assistant in a new city, they move away from Paris with their daughter Chloe. But it's not just working from home in the new apartment that's bothering him: Damien hears noises. They seem to come from the pipes in the walls. He can hardly sleep at night, and when he wakes up, the water bottle next to his bed is empty, even though he hasn't drunk it and neither has anyone else. The plumber Bernier, who lives in the same building, claims that the water connection in their apartment has been tampered with. The waste water runs directly into the river. Bernier insists that the damage be repaired immediately, but Damien has an important deadline at work and insists that he leave. As much as Damien tries to focus on his project, the noise is taking up more and more space, and the loud music from the neighbor above them isn't making the situation any easier. What frustrates Damien in particular is that his wife Nadia doesn't believe him and wants him to see a psychotherapist. But Damien is obsessed with the idea that there is something he can't see, an entity, a power that wants to take possession of him. His obsession affects his whole life. He lags behind with work, forgets to pick up his daughter from school and even on a weekend away with friends, the entity seems to have followed him to their house in the country. Eventually the situation escalates and Damien is in danger of losing his family. Is there a way out for him?
