Adele's Gift

The middle-class Veyron-Laffite family are in turmoil: their maid has turned in her apron while they're expecting important guests. The meal isn't ready and something has to be done. In the nick of time they manage to hire Adele, a village girl who turns out to have the gift of second sight. She predicts that the Gachassins, the people they've been waiting for, won't be coming. Mrs. Veyron-Laffite realizes that having a fortune teller on hand may come in handy - especially in the field of business.
