Plot:

Sir Edward More, married and a world-renowned art expert, meets Margot, a young, working-class Frenchwoman. and begins an affair with her - one which soon gets out of hand, destroys his marriage, and places him in the power of her other lover, the unscrupulous Herve. Then Sir Edward is blinded.
