Paul makes a living with his father in Poland. He is shocked to discover his father's picture on the cover of a tabloid newspaper with the word 'traitor'. A certified hero of the struggle against totalitarianism, is suddenly accused of having acted as a secret informer for the communist regime. Paul is certain that his father's enemies invented the story. But he's father bizarre reactions lead him to doubt his innocence. Father also decides to go hide to wait for 'things to settle down'. A former member of the secret police under the communist regime, holds the answers to what did happened at that time.
