Vidya Sehgal lives a wealthy lifestyle in Mumbai along with her parents, and has a paternal uncle who runs a printing press. She is employed with Dateline TV as an Entertainment correspondent. She is then assigned to cover crime, and after being tipped off by her informant, Trishna, ends up exposing a politician who is forcing his already married daughter to wed a second time. She then meets with Alibaugh-based Sangeeta, who alleges that she has been sexually molested and forcibly confined by the Police Superintendent, Prabhakar Gupta. She will soon be drawn into the dark, murky world of corrupt policemen and the extent they will go to cover-up their dealings.
