Plot:
In the early 1960s, on the verge of taking her vows to become a nun, convent-raised novice, Anna, is ordered by her Mother Superior to contact her estranged aunt, Wanda, before making the irreversible decision. Only eighteen, the young soon-to-be nun who has never left the cloister before and knows nothing of her surviving relatives, visits her former state prosecutor aunt and now an embittered alcoholic, only to be revealed the numbing truth: Her real name is Ida and that she is Jewish. As a result, the orphaned Ida will accompany Wanda on a journey of investigation, thirsting to discover the fate of her parents during the hard times of the Nazi occupation, however, is she ready for yet another shocking revelation, one that will demand an inevitable decision?
