Plot:
Hercules (Heracles) and his wife Iole have settled in the small island of Ithaca off the western coast of Greece. The couple serve as courtiers of King Laertes. A delegation of fishermen arrives to ask Laertes to handle the recurring threat of an attacking sea monster. Hercules volunteers to slay the monster, and Laertes provides him with a ship and crew. Laertes' own son, the young Prince Ulysses (Odysseus), joins the expedition. Hercules manages to locate and slay the sea monster, but a violent storm transfers his ship to the coast of Judea in the Levant. Hercules and his crew visit the village of the Danites (Tribe of Dan) who complain about being vassals to the Philistines. With his original ship wrecked, Hercules decides to travel to the Philistine city of Gaza to request a ship from its king. The travelers are able to get horses for the journey from a helpful Philistine merchant. During the journey, Hercules kills an attacking lion by strangulating it. The Philistine horse-owner assumes that Hercules is the fugitive Danite rebel Samson, who has accomplished similar feats. Elsewhere, the real Samson kills a group of Philistine raiders. He assumes that the Greek sailors are working for the Philistines. Hercules gets a hostile reception in Gaza, because the locals think that he is working for the Danites. The local king wants Hercules to arrest Samson for him in exchange for any help. The Seren's loyal girlfriend Delilah volunteers to help Hercules capture the rebel. After an inconclusive battle between them, Hercules and Samson agree to join forces against the king. Delilah notices that Samson is smitten with her, and she tries to use his sympathy for her to warn her actual lover. Meanwhile, Iole is leading a rescue expedition to locate her missing husband. She leads a ship full of armed men towards Gaza. During a battle over the control of Gaza, Hercules is mainly concerned with surviving and returning to Ithaca while Samson is mostly interested in Delilah's survival.
