Hatchet (2006)

In New Orleans, during the Mardi Gras, the college student Ben misses his girlfriend, who broke with him. His best friend Marcus is having a good time with the girls, but Ben is not interested in women. He decides to make a swamp tour at night and Marcus goes with his friend. They hire the guide Shawn and they begin the tour together with the local Marybeth Dunstan, who is looking for her father and brother that vanished in the swamp while hunting alligators; the wannabee actresses Misty and Jenna, who believe are making a movie with director Doug Shapiro; and the tourists Jim Permatteo and his wife Shannon Permatteo. When Shawn strands and sinks the boat, they learn that he is from Detroit and is inexperienced in the swamp. Jim hurts his leg while leaving the boat and soon Marybeth tells them that they are in danger since they are close to the house of the notorious Victor Crowley. She tells them his tragic story and how he kills people in the swamp during the night. The tourists believe it is an urban legend until the moment Victor Crowley appears and kills Jim and Shannon, in the beginning of a night of murders.
