Plot:
Young archaeologist Tom (Robert Cavanah) travels to India to save the sacred ruins from exploitation by money-hungry art thieves. He last visited this fascinating country as a teenager with his father. When he left, Tom had to leave his great love Anja (Tabu) behind. When he meets her again after all these years, he learns that Anja is about to marry the wealthy businessman Ashok (Javed Jaffrey). As if that wasn't unfortunate enough, Tom comes to feel the hatred of the art thieves while working in the temple ruins. A little monkey called Hanou and the old hermit Deva (Khalid Thiabji) save his life at the last second. The police don't seem particularly interested in solving the robbery. The elegant Ashok does not have a clean slate, as it turns out that he not only deals in stolen art treasures, but also in wild monkeys, which he sells by the hundreds as laboratory animals. With the help of his little monkey friend Hanou and the mysterious hermit, Tom takes up the fight against the dangerous gangsters. After a dramatic confrontation, the temple monkeys, led by the clever Hanou, finally succeed in preventing the smuggling of the stolen art supplies and freeing their fellow monkeys from the cages of their tormentors.
