Hamlet Live in Lisbon

A feature film adaptation of William Shakespeare's play set in modern times, it stays true to the original language and story line, in a high energy 2-hour long production, filmed live in Lisbon during September 2025. The title role is portrayed by Carmo Bebiano, as she follows in the footsteps of the great actors Sarah Bernhardt in 1899 and Diane Venora at the Public Theatre in 1982, in a "gender-blurring" portrayal of Hamlet. The diverse and exclusive cast includes Portuguese Nationals and expatriates actors from around the world, joining together to interpret one of Shakespeare's most challenging, beloved, and electrifying plays.
