Grieves - Lightspeed [2011/VOB]

LightSpeed is a modern-day adaptation of the European Classic "Oliver Twist." Instead of orphans stealing gold and silver for old vagrant Fagan we have suburban White kids selling Special K and Ecstasy in the Rave scene for son of Harlem Drug Legend Nicky Barnes. We chronicle the emerging Rave scene of the early 80's and also the emerging AIDS crisis. This film shows the cause and effect of living a certain lifestyle and the ramifications that come with it. With exotic New York City locations, plenty of Uzi and 9mm gun play and a fantastic original musical score this film is great for learning how the Hip-Hop and Rave culture began
