In 1942 while putting together a jigsaw puzzle of a young and beautiful naked woman, a young boy named Timmy Reston is punished for doing so by his repressive mother, so he murders her with an ax and then dismembers her corpse with a hacksaw. Forty years later in 1982 on a college campus in Boston, Massachusetts, a mysterious killer is murdering young and beautiful women and severing their body parts, stealing certain ones from each woman. Lt. Bracken makes a deal with the Dean of the campus. Undercover police officer Mary Riggs infiltrates the campus posing as a tennis instructor and, with the help of a male student named Kendall, tries to find out the identity of the killer.
