A shabby appearance and an equally-bad complexion are only a few issues that antisocial, delusional high-school tomboy Pauline must endure. Struggling for attention and acceptance, the otherwise-ordinary schoolgirl is suffering from the typical problems of her age, including the constant mother/daughter conflicts, the search for the perfect boyfriend, and the loss of her virginity.
