Plot:

Fictionalized biography of singer Paul Delmet at the time of his success at the "Chat Noir". A young provincial made her know her admiration. They could love each other, if a famous singer did not owe his audience. He gives up his dream. Little by little, the girl sinks into madness and Delmet dies of tuberculosis.
