In wanting to start life anew in escaping toxic relationships with her mother and a recent ex named Colin, those relationships which have sent her into therapy and placed her on anxiety medication, Amelia has just entered into a roommate situation in a house in a "transitioning" i.e. currently sketchy, neighborhood with Melinda, an overly exuberant woman with issues respecting personal boundaries. It all she can afford, Amelia has taken a piecemeal job working from home while she awaits entry into art school for that new phase of her life. She does let Melinda direct the nature of their relationship, Melinda who sees in her her new BFF. Along with an elderly couple next door, the husband, Bruno, who suffers from dementia and thus pops up in the most unexpected and somewhat shocking ways, Amelia welcomes refuge from the craziness in the true friendship she strikes with shy David, a fellow artist she meets at the local coffee house. Along with entering into a romantic relationship with him, Amelia ultimately looks to David as a protector in strange things happening at the house, like there is someone else besides her and Melinda that has access to it and has been moving things without their knowledge. Melinda and her recent ex Mark somewhat jokingly but somewhat seriously tell her that the house is purported to be haunted due to a murder that occurred there years ago. Is the house truly haunted or is there another explanation for what is happening?
