Plot:
Ali, in his mid-twenties, is middle-aged and homeless, and is also supposed to look after his five-year-old son Sam. He is hopelessly overwhelmed by his new responsibilities as a young father and travels with Sam to Antibes, where he hopes to receive financial and emotional support from his sister. Although he tries to get a job with a security company as quickly as possible, he increasingly neglects little Sam. One night, while working as a bouncer at a nightclub, he meets Stephanie, a young killer whale trainer who has been injured in a fight. He takes her home, tends to her injuries and leaves her his private cell phone number. Months pass before the attractive Stephanie contacts him. She had a serious accident at work with one of the orcas, as a result of which both her legs were amputated at the knees, and now doesn't know how to find her way back to life. Ali visits Stephanie and tries to give her back some joy in life by spending time with her and listening to her. In return, Stephanie accompanies him to the illegal fistfights in which Ali takes part to earn extra money. The two end up having harmless sex that could develop into something more - if they both let it.
