Berlin, Gropiusstadt, 1975: Thirteen-year-old Christiane F. lives in Berlin with her mother and sister. Christiane's father has disappeared, and her mother has her hands full with her job and her new boyfriend. The daughter just wants to get out. Kessi, a classmate of Christiane's, takes her to "The Sound," Europe's most modern nightclub. There, she not only meets Detlef but also experiences the effects of her first trip.
