Pushing love away, Marc Stevens, an itinerant performer trying to find recognition on the fringes of the entertainment business, is on his way to his next gig. But, sometimes, life plays cruel jokes on people, and with Christmas just around the corner and the night drawing near, sad Marc gets stranded in the middle of nowhere, trapped in the rough terrain of a dark, less-travelled country road with a broken van. Then, while defeated by despair, a Good Samaritan answers Marc's prayers, and Bartel, a warm, unassuming innkeeper, provides food and shelter, along with the reassurance that everything will be fine. However, surrounded by ominous warnings and a godforsaken wasteland rife with peril, Marc is about to learn firsthand that pain and loss are potent catalysts. Is unsuspecting Marc prepared for the terrible ordeal that awaits him?
