In a small Irish town, road worker Eugene lives a comfortable life of low expectations, content to never leave and never dream too big. When a construction crew that includes Eugene and his father accidentally disturbs an ancient burial site, they awaken something that local legend claimed was just a myth: an Irish vampire with the ability to drain blood from victims without even touching them, killing through proximity alone. As night falls and the body count rises, this makeshift group of blue-collar workers must figure out how to survive until dawn while trapped in close quarters with a monster that grows stronger with every kill. The film balances the immediate horror of their situation with the interpersonal tensions among the crew, particularly the strained relationship between Eugene and his father, all while the vampire stalks them through the rural Irish countryside.
