Aya has left everything - even her intended husband at the altar - to start a new life in Guangzhou, known as the "Chocolate City" because of the African exile community that has taken root there. When Aya gets a job at a tea shop, owned by the Chinese Cai, it opens up a new world for her. Through the traditional tea ceremonies he teaches her, a fragile but deep connection grows between them.
