Black Orpheus

Relentlessly pursued by the murderous spectral apparition of Death itself, the innocent and compellingly beautiful, Eurydice, arrives in bustling Rio de Janeiro on the eve of the Carnival climax, to seek refuge in her cousin Serafina's house. However, nothing will ever be the same again, as a brief but fateful encounter with the cheerful tram conductor and divine guitarist, Orpheus, will lead the way for a fervent whirlwind romance, against the backdrop of an imminent dispassionate marriage. Now--constantly under threat--the two star-crossed lovers must fight for their love, against the vengeful maenads who thirst for their doom. Will the sun ever rise again?
