Minnie Basu a documentary filmmaker in France in sour relationship with her father Robi Basu she finds that he has passed away in plane crash which was going to Afghanistan.Minnie returns to India her caretaker Bhola guides her and she finds no reason that why her father was traveling to Afghanistan.Minnie gets a visitor at home Rahmat Khan whose an Alzheimer patient and she has to take his custody after her father's death, she isn't happy with Rehmat Khan staying with them and tries to find his whereabouts.Bhola then asks her to check on things of her father which could help her find the reason why he was traveling to Afghanistan which might also lead to details of Rahmat Khan.Minnie finds that Rahmat Kahn is the same guy whom she knew as Bioscopewala in her childhood and would love her a lot she also finds more details from two Afghan women Ghazala and Wahida who traveled with him from Afghanistan.Minnie finds Rahmat Khan had a daughter as same as her age and is missing in Afghanistan she decides to go to the country in search for her.
