Plot:
'Bemisal' in English means "unrepeatable". The plot revolves around the enduring friendship of two boyhood friends, Sudhir and Prashant. Their friendship is so deep that deepens over the years when they grow up to become doctors. Falling in love with the same woman, each is prepared to yield to the success of the other, going so far as to plead for the other. Kavita marries the friend preferred by her father and elderly aunt and the plot thickens. The friends live in the house of the a district magistrate together with the new bride. While chaste and above-board, a remark by a catty woman during a social event begins to put a stress on the relationship. One of the friends decides to open a nursing home, where dubious and illegal practices happen in his quest for riches. The other continues to work in a government hospital, though he is legally a partner in the nursing home. When the long arm of the law catches up with the nursing-home doctor, the other friend performs some illegal activities and he takes the rap. It takes a while for all the parties to understand the why of all the drama, deceit, gratitude, and real friendship--can it be re-established? Though not quite a "formula" plot, there are some formula diversions such as the exposure of an alcohol-swilling woman who has ensnared a wealthy schoolmate of the friends. The plot also navigates the viewer through the murky underworld of the medical profession and some of the dire consequences.
