The fashion designer Hannah works with her best friend Esther at the studio owned by the arrogant Cristean, who enjoys stressing the designers with his criticism. Her boyfriend is the Afro-American Kaelin, who is Esther's old friend. While visiting her estranged parents, Hannah feels pain in her side and sees a bulge that disappears. On the next day, she goes to the bathroom at her work and sees the bulge growing and bleeding. During the night, the bulge turns into a monstrous head that bursts and Hannah faints. When she wakes up, she sees the little monster and subdues it and ties it up in her basement. Then she is capable to create an original dress that satisfies Cristean. When Hannah goes to the dermatologist to show her irritation on the skin, the doctor says that may have been caused by dial DNA from absorbing a twin. Hannah asks her mother whether she had a twin, but her mother does not reply. Soon the insecure Hannah becomes paranoid, believing Kaelin is dating Esther. When Hannah researches the Internet, she finds a meeting similar to AA of people with appendage problem. Soon she befriends the divorced teacher Claudia and learns that she must sedate the appendage. She splits from Esther and frequently meets and hangs around with Claudia. Until the day she learns the secret of Claudia and the group of the meeting.
